After being forced to cease the production of aircraft engines following the 1st World War, a company called Bayerische Motoren Werke AG started manufacturing motorcycles in 1923 followed by automobiles in 1928. The logo of this original aircraft engine manufacturing company, representing white blades cutting through the blue sky, continued. The company even thought that they can create “ultimate driving machine” and had that for a tagline. Ultimate driving machines indeed were the automobiles they went on to create and today we know this company Bayerische Motoren Werke in short as BMW.
